April is a 1998 semi-autobiographical film by the director Nanni Moretti. Moretti documents his struggles to make a documentary about the federal elections in Italy. In the film, Moretti is distracted by his obsession with his new born son and his responsibility as a father and yet he still desires to make the documentary. April offers a glimpse at Moretti’s life, struggle, fears, and his family.
