La Sorpresa is a romantic drama that stars Luis Fernando Pena Maya Zapata. The film begins with a man returning home after a long business trip. He lands at the airport and hires a taxicab to take him to his house. While on the drive to the house, the man confides to the taxicab driver the details of his long trip and how much he has missed his wife while he was away.

The taxicab driver talks to the man as well. He tells his about a woman that he is in love with. He sees his love is beautiful but broken-hearted and on the rebound from a bad relationship. The more the men talk with each other, the more they discover that the two women they are talking about are very similar. Soon, the men discover that they are in love with the same woman and she is carrying on with both of them. All along the cab driver has been visiting the woman at her apartment, never realizing that she lives with her husband who is simply out of town. The two have been carrying on a ionate affair while he has been away. The husband is furious to find out that he has been betrayed and the cab driver does not want to give up his relationship with the woman, who he has fallen in love with.

The men decide that they must battle it out for the woman’s affections. Soon their confrontation turns physical. Instead of taking their anger and frustration out of the woman, the two men decide to face off against one another. They both become jealous and angry. Soon their anger gets the best of them and they begin fighting each other, each desperate to win the woman’s love.
