The "Italian godfather of gore" Lucio Fulci directs himself in a self-referential meta-film that intends to reflex on his career. The splatter director, Dr. Fulci, is haunted by bloody visions day by day and is disturbed by gory death fantasies. Is he still normal? He seeks help and turns to a mad psychatrist who he later discovers is modelling brutal murders after his violent movie scenes.
