The Zac Brown Band is a Southern Rock/Country group from Dahlonega, Georgia. The group started touring heavy in 2002 shortly after forming the group. Despite just starting out the Brown Band was booked almost 200 times a year. The band began to tour full time after a developer bought their lead singer's restaurant and dance club which he had co owned with his farther in Lake Oconnee area in Georgia. Prior to the success from their first independent release the band continued to work and perfect their craft which lead them to their release of the groups debut single, "Chicken Fried," was re-recorded and released to country radio. Major recording company Atlantic Records acquired distribution of the single, which later lead to the release of the groups first major studio album called The Foundation. The band also broke barriers after being the first country group to become number one on the country charts.

The Zac Brown Band has won numerous awards throughout their musical career. The band has been recognized by every musical award ceremony from the Grammys to the American Music awards and they have won 8 of 55 nominations since the year 2009.
